Subject: [uaac] Second Language Credit by Exam Accommodation Fall 2020

Greetings UAAC:

Please ensure your advising teams have the following important announcement regarding an accommodation for second language credit by exam for fall 2020.

As a one-time pandemic accommodation in Fall 2020, students whose test scores (CLEP, Special Examination for Credit or Grade, etc.) are received by the last day of classes, 12/9/2020, can receive credit based on their exam scores regardless of whether or not they have been enrolled in a higher-level language class in Fall 2020, and regardless of the session(s) (7W1, 7W2, Regular, etc.) in which they took the higher-level language class(es).

Given the uncertainty of when the UArizona Testing Office will open again, please make students are aware of the following possible options:

· Credit by exam<https://catalog.arizona.edu/policy/proficiencycompetency-and-exemption-examinations-special-examination-credit-or-grade> is a possibility for some languages, and students can check with the relevant department.

· Pima’s Downtown campus Testing Center has limited CLEP testing available (12 slots each Friday): https://pima.edu/academics-programs/academic-support/testing-centers/index.html

· The University of Phoenix - Tucson Campus (300 S Craycroft Road Ste. 100, Tucson, Arizona 85711) is potentially a testing center, but needs to be confirmed.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
