Subject: [uaac] FW: Thanksgiving Plans for Students
Importance: High

 Dear Colleagues,

In order to facilitate the safest and healthiest Thanksgiving break for our students, their loved ones, and the greater Tucson community, we are requiring that all Main Campus undergraduate, graduate, and professional students complete a Thanksgiving Plan survey.

The survey will be sent to students this Friday, and will require that they choose from three Thanksgiving plan options by November 1st. Completing this survey is mandatory for Main Campus students who live in the Tucson area. All other students are exempt. The Dean of Students will follow up with students to ensure completion.

Students will select one of three travel options:

  * Option 1: Travel for Thanksgiving Break and Complete the Semester Remotely
Students who plan to leave their UA residence for the Thanksgiving break are strongly encouraged not to return until the Spring semester begins in January 2021. Students should consider this option only if they are traveling to a location with supportive study conditions, including reliable internet service and a quiet workspace.

  * Option 2: Travel for Thanksgiving break and return to UA residence to complete the Fall Semester remotely
Students should leave their UA residence for Thanksgiving Break and return to their UA residence after the break only if they have personal responsibilities that require back-and-forth travel.

  * Option 3: Remain at UA residence for Thanksgiving Break
Students who do not plan to leave their UA residence for Thanksgiving break and will complete their semester remotely from their UA residence do not need to be tested, except if they plan to travel over the Winter Break.

Each of the above options has been paired with tailored recommendations for testing, isolation, and stay at home protocols which can be viewed on the Holiday Travel website<https://www.arizona.edu/holiday-travel>, the website will go live tomorrow morning. Once a student completes the survey, testing and isolation guidance will be emailed directly to them based on the option they selected.

We understand that students may come to you for guidance on these options. Please point them to the online resources at https://www.arizona.edu/holiday-travel.

In addition, any medical related questions can be directed to the Campus Health Nurse line at 520-621-6493. Any non-medical questions can be directed to the student COVID Ambassador Team Hotline at 520-848-4045 or covidhelp at email.arizona.edu<mailto:covidhelp at email.arizona.edu>.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions regarding this plan. We appreciate your support of our students!

Best wishes,
