Thanks again to all for a successful transfer orientation!

Below is the email sent to all students individually attending the May 2nd orientation.  It was sent to their UA and personal email addresses. An updated student list will be sent to the Agvisors listserv after the college meeting at ~11am.

  *   College Meeting will be from 10-11am with open Q&A availability from 11am-12pm (this latter means we'll keep the zoom link open until 12pm.  Zoom link and password are below.
  *   Advising Appointments will be scheduled after students are checked in - the CAS advising team will start scheduling students based on your Box availability and send emails to students and respective advisors
  *   CAS Advising Team drop-in hours will be available for general questions and assistance from 12-2pm at this Zoom link<https://arizona.zoom.us/j/671801589>. Students are made aware of this as well on the email sent to them (cc advisor) with their major advisor appointment time.  If you have any students needing assistance after 2pm please send me nudge on Teams IM,  text or call and I'll connect with the student.

Dear Wilma,

Congratulations on your admission to the University of Arizona and welcome to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS)!  We are excited you have chosen to be part of the Wildcat family.  CALS is a diverse college with many academic, research and career opportunities to offer our students.  We strive to assist our graduates in becoming recognized as among the most highly engaged, competitive future leaders in our society.

As a new CALS transfer student we look forward to meeting you, albeit virtually for the time being, this Saturday May 2, 2020 at 10:00am (Arizona Time) at your Transfer Orientation.  All CALS students are going to follow the steps below to complete the new student orientation and register for classes.   The mandatory advising hold on your UAccess Student Center account will be removed once you complete your transfer orientation.  In the NextSteps Center you will be prompted to check your Catmail to learn further about your Transfer Orientation - and here it is.

Orientation Steps:

  1.  Complete all steps in your Next Steps Center in its entirety: https://nextsteps.arizona.edu/  **Please note that you won't be able to register until the Next Steps Center is complete, regardless of whether or not you've completed your orientation
  2.  Confirm your orientation session date on Next Steps Center

  1.  At the college meeting you will be provided with your assigned academic advising appointment time and further information on how to register for classes
     *   Both college meeting attendance and advising appointments are required to complete your orientation and be eligible to register for classes

*In case you have not done this yet, create your UA Net ID so you can access your Catmail and your UAccess Student Center: https://netid.arizona.edu/newid.php

Attached are handouts for your reference.  We will address the information at the college meeting.  No need to follow up on any of that information yet.  Please note that if you request an advising appointment with your academic advisor prior to orientation, you will still be required to attend a formal orientation session.  General questions can be submitted to CALS general advisors at advising at cals.arizona.edu<mailto:advising at cals.arizona.edu> anytime.  We are excited to provide you with information that will prepare you as a new Wildcat student at orientation!

CALS transfer orientation session will last a maximum of 3 hours intermittently throughout the 10am-4pm timeframe. We will start at 10:00am, with access at 9:45am (AZ time).  This includes your college meeting, assigned appointment time with academic advisor and course enrollment.
