Hello Advisors!

Are you all working remotely now? Are any of you on campus? Please let me know - and let me know how students are able to get in touch with you (email, Trellis, in-person, another way?).

I know you are all communicating updates to your students, I've seen a few of your emails.  Dean Baygents believes that it is imperative that we communicate to our students that even though we may be off campus that we are still available to them and that they are not alone.  Our priority is to support them academically - reminding them that they need to be in communication with their instructors and checking D2L and email frequently.  That we remind them that this is new to us as well as them and that we are going to work through it together.  If you have students who are remaining on campus, please let us know - we want to make sure they don't feel like everyone has left them behind and that they are aware of all of the resources available.  And finally, that we are remaining positive and looking forward.  Ultimately we want students to feel connected to Engineering and to know that our priority continues to be assisting them academically.  Below is an email that I am sending out to my students.

I've also attached a few resources for you that have come through my email that might be helpful now and in general, you may have already received a few these from other sources. If you have any best practices or helpful info to share - please do!

I know you have been receiving numerous emails about Coronavirus/Covid-19 and courses going online for the remainder of the semester.  I wanted to reach out to ensure you that even though we have been advised to work remotely at this time, that I am still available to you.  Your academic success and wellbeing are our top priority! *         Wednesday, March 18th, is the first day back to classes.  Make sure you are in communication with your professors; check your D2L and email often.  This is new to all of us, so please be patient and aware that each instructor may approach their courses differently.  If you're not sure what you should be doing in any class, email your instructor right away.
