Dear OAC,

Thank you for all your extraordinary efforts in moving New Student Orientation from an in-person to online experience in record time.

We know there are many questions about courses and modality. As you know, the pre-scheduler is currently set-up to only allow in-person and hybrid courses. While this will be how the student schedule continues to be populated in June, there will likely be some shifts in modality before the fall semester begins based on the wellness and safety of our campus community.

To assist you in answering questions, please see the talking points below and attached infographic.

Have a terrific Orientation season and thank you for all your efforts as we continue to yield the fall 2020 class.

Talking Points for New Student Orientation:

  *   Our intent is to offer as many in person engagements as possible within health protection standards; focusing on creating opportunities for first year students.
  *   Classes will be offered across four different engaging formats: In-Person, Flex-In Person, Live Online, and iCourses.  The infographic shares a bit about each format.
     *   Classes will be updated in the Schedule of Classes by the end of June as the exact mix of class formats are being determined this month.
  *   Information about classes that have an adjusted modality or meeting pattern will be shared with new students in early July so they can prepare fall or change a course, if needed.
