Hello everyone -
After talking with my peers today, it confirmed that the new academic eligibility statuses and interventions are not being consistently communicated across campus. In fact, we seem to know more in CALS than in most other colleges. One thing I did learn was that online students got this email (see below). I will add it to the communications in the Box folder that Nancy linked us all to. Stay tuned as we learn more!
As you have recently been informed by the Registrar's Office, your academic record indicates that your cumulative GPA is below the 2.0 required by the university. Under the University of Arizona's Undergraduate Academic Eligibility Policy<https://catalog.arizona.edu/policy/undergraduate-academic-eligibility-policy> your status is currently noted as being on Academic Probation. As a starting point to help you return to Eligible status, you must complete a required intervention that the Arizona Online Student Success team has designed to help support you in getting your cumulative GPA above 2.0 by the end of this semester.
We know this was likely not part of your college plan, but are confident that we can work together to get you back on track. You should also know that you're not alone. 1 in 4 UA students is impacted by academic eligibility, and 1 in 10 Wildcats who graduated last spring had also needed to return to good standing in the past.
As a starting point, please complete an online self-assessment to help us identify the strategies that will help you the most. Once you have completed this you will be contacted by our student success team and added to a D2L course space called Arizona Online Rebound. This zero-credit course is designed to help you identify obstacles to your academic success - and establish strategies to improve your GPA so that you will return to Academically Eligible status as quickly as possible.
We are on your side. The goal is to work together to assess where you are academically and personally in order to strategize how you can move forward toward academic improvement.
I look forward to working with you - and please let me know if you have any questions.

Subject: [Agvisors] Mobile phone carrier look-up
All,
Following up from the discussion in our Agvisor meeting today.
Below is the site I go to in order to check mobile phone carriers. Its free to use, unlimited searches.
Then I Google how to send email text to that carrier.
For example, Verizon users, it is phone number at vtext.com<mailto:number at vtext.com>. 5205551234 at vtext.com<mailto:5205551234 at vtext.com>
Each carrier is different.
Then I send an email from my UA email account to that phone# + carrier to text them.
If the student responds it will reply to your email inbox.
