Hello Everyone,

We have Northwestern University Master of Science Law program information session today from 3pm-5pm in the CALS Boardroom. Please encourage students who you think would be interested to attend - below is a description from Northwestern.

Information Description:
Northwestern University created this degree for STEM students and professionals, because we realized that lot of them are doing work that intersects with law and business, but many of them know very little about the legal and regulatory factors that affect their work. So a scientist may make a discovery in the lab, but not know how to protect their intellectual property, or not understand some of the ethical concerns associated with their work. Or an engineer may have an idea for a product, but not know how to create a business, protect intellectual property, navigate relevant regulation, read a contract, etc. A lot of students who have studies science are interested in healthcare-related positions, but they may not understand the regulatory or privacy aspects of their work. The MSL covers a variety of legal, regulatory, and business concepts that can "fill in the blanks" and allow STEM professionals to better understand some of the challenges and implications of their work. The curriculum focuses on skills that are highly valued in the working world: teamwork, communication, and quantitative skills.
