[Agvisors] August 14 - Domestic and Global Freshmen Orientations

Greetings Agvisors:

The preschedules for the August 14 sessions are uploaded in Box<https://arizona.box.com/s/gmg1wdmt5nq4u7txvsyf74ov12i1uate>. There are two separate lists: August 14 and August 14 Global.  Preschedule reports ran separately since Global session is a two day program (further information below).  Overall we are expecting 33 students (30 domestic and 3 global).

Please upload schedule modification requests by 9am or refer students to CAS drop-ins/registration assistance between 1-4pm.

Students with less than 12 units will be enrolled in Math 100 and SAS100AX by S4S unit.  Jose, student Sydney Sloma (VSC) has an AGEC and will need additional classes.

Hi everyone,

Below is Global Orientation information for Main Campus students. More information can be found on our New Students page<https://global.arizona.edu/international-students/undergraduate-students> and New Student FAQs<https://global.arizona.edu/international-students/frequently-asked-questions>.

Schedule for August 13, 17, 19
International Student Presentation and Advising 9-11am (Arizona time)
International Student Chat at 3-5pm (Arizona time)
Students should have received a zoom link to join.
ISS is also available for questions via same zoom link between 11 and 3pm.

AIO International Orientation hold
Has been removed for all future Global Orientation sessions. If there are late adds to the sessions, the AIO holds will be lifted by 5am the day of New Student or Transfer orientation.

Remote Students
Students enrolling remotely from outside the US will be coded as distance learners in UAccess (visa type "DL"). This is an internal designation only.

Document Review e-form
This e-form, available under Orientation in myglobal.arizona.edu, is required for all international students enrolling for fall semester (remotely and in the U.S.). The deadline to submit is September 8. By submitting this form, students can indicate if they are enrolling remotely from their home country so they can be coded "DL" in UAccess. Students coded as Distance Learners will be exempt from health insurance and immunization requirements.
Verify Lawful Presence and Tuition Awards for Main Campus Distance Learners
Main campus students enrolled remotely and receiving university scholarships must first submit the Document Review e-forms to indicate if they will enroll from their home country. Then, students must follow the VLP Student Resource Guide<https://global.arizona.edu/sites/default/files/2020/08/VLP_Student_Resource_Guide.pdf>, submit the Attestation of International Lawful Presence<https://global.arizona.edu/sites/default/files/2020/08/VLP_Attestation.pdf> and documentation demonstrating lawful presence in their current country of residence to the Registrar's Office through UAccess.

ISS Hours
ISS is available Monday-Thursday from 8-5 pm, but will remain available all Fridays from 8-5 pm for the month of August. All contact information can be found here<https://global.arizona.edu/iss/advising>.
