We look forward to seeing you back on campus in a few short weeks. As you know, social distancing, diagnostic testing, and face coverings are the pillars of safety in Wildcat Country. These three actions are key to slowing the spread of the COVID-19 virus and allowing us to continue to keep campus open for in-person activities.

To support these pillars, registration for free COVID-19 antigen virus testing is now open to all students. For those of you who will be living in on-campus housing in the fall, please follow their testing directive.

For students who will live off-campus, the antigen testing will take place at the North Recreation Center from August 10 to August 27. Here’s how you can sign up:

  * Visit the UArizona campus COVID-19 testing webpage<https://click.comms.arizona.edu/?qs=58ab4cc724a6db63620733f153aa0355922cca305cf8c5bd1cfe8a4fc6fdba165d8fdf87d547dbde4c5ec020ded6924fa23655533e97c887>.

Even if you don’t have symptoms of COVID-19, there’s a chance that you could still have the virus and not know it. By getting a COVID-19 test, you can help us reduce the spread of illness in our community and gather the data needed to return to in-person activities as quickly and safely as possible.

The COVID-19 antigen test that we are using on campus is a diagnostic test that checks to see if you are infected with the coronavirus. The test itself is quick and uses a nasal swab to collect a sample from just inside your nostril. Unlike some other types of COVID-19 tests, this test does not require a healthcare professional to collect the sample. You hold your own swab and collect your own sample, which is then sent to the lab for processing. Not only is the test itself quick, but the time to receive results is also fast: results from the test are available to you in two hours or less. Should you receive a positive test result, please rest assured that we have support systems in place to help you stay up with your classes as you isolate.

If you are a student who is currently living out-of-town, we strongly encourage you to have a diagnostic COVID-19 test in your hometown within 5 days of your planned return to Tucson. If you should test positive, please remain isolated at home and only return to campus after quarantine/isolation in accordance with the CDC quarantine and isolation guidance<https://click.comms.arizona.edu/?qs=58ab4cc724a6db63f4179a4c4b9fe2af9f3272ea6ecc8b4e919ddc779970bef7bed4f3c8da87bdf0e5fdc6931a03a2feab929520fd915e66>. If you need to isolate at home, please remember that there are options available for you to keep up with your classes.

While participation in the university’s COVID-19 antigen testing program is voluntary, we hope that you will join the thousands of other students who have signed up for the test and are helping to reduce the spread of COVID-19 on our campus and in the greater community.

Note: If you currently have symptoms of COVID-19<https://click.comms.arizona.edu/?qs=58ab4cc724a6db638648f8ea73f3ed9c5f7cceaa67987298cf89a73c25b663b42dcdc0fdab8c200763e70531d4764d00b25a53269a24d51a> or were notified that you have had close contact with someone who tested positive, please contact Campus Health<https://click.comms.arizona.edu/?qs=58ab4cc724a6db637f04cfd82c6c172837b60f5d25bd06dded3d26f953fb9e1aa4c971aed1ec55c268b102651790bfece24f9a81ae27b5ed> or your healthcare provider for your test instead of attending the open test described in this invitation.
