Hi Danielle,

Thank you for sharing the status of student opinion during this unfortunate circumstances.  After reviewing the results, I got to wondering how instructional faculty were 'feeling' and challenges they were experiencing.

Is there an active effort in collecting this data, at least within CALS?

Good morning, CALS Team -

The CALS Cares survey that was developed to assess student well-being during the transition to digital has concluded and the results are attached for your review. The results are in line with the preliminary information shared previously.

Throughout this time, personalized outreach has been done by phone, and in some cases email, to undergraduate students who are still living in campus housing and/or are out of state or international. Academic advisors and Ryan Daily, our Life Management Counselor, have made these contacts. Our student workers are also reaching out to students to provide a peer connection. We are also working to connect with students who have not registered for courses in the fall during their priority registration date. Our students are sharing a broad spectrum of experiences, as you can imagine. Some are doing well and have said that they are enjoying new access that they haven't had before. Others are facing very serious challenges in their personal lives that are impacting their academic lives.

Personal connections will be ongoing for our students so that we can work to connect them with the appropriate resources.  A huge thank you to everyone for doing this outreach and listening to students during this unprecedented time.
