Hello Advisors,
I wanted to follow up about a question that was asked about providing
financial assistance for students wanting to go to CAPS.
Before getting to that answer, let's review the supports that are available
via CALS' new Life Management Counseling services.
1. *Internal Wellness Consultations* (currently via Zoom) for students,
faculty and staff. This service works best for those with general mental
wellness questions, concerns about others or themselves or for those
interested in enhancing personal, academic and professional success.
2. *Direct Counseling Service to Students* (currently via Zoom) - This
service provides undergraduate CALS students with short-term individual
counseling for many concerns, such as stress and anxiety, depression,
interpersonal conflicts, life transitions, loneliness, overwhelming
emotions, and more. *There are no costs to students for this service.*
For students with specific needs that may be better addressed at CAPS,
limited student scholarships may be available. Since funds are limited,
decisions are made on a case by case basis after a Life Management
Consultation with myself. Also, please note that students can always use
CAPS without the scholarship funds paying the set fees or using their
health insurance <https://health.arizona.edu/fees-insurance>.
Also, on a related note, UArizona's Student Centers
<https://diversity.arizona.edu/student-centers> may also have CAPS
vouchers. Please check with individual centers for more information.
Please let me know if you have any other questions and thank you in advance
for letting your students know about Life Management Counseling services!
