Greetings Team!  Hope you all had a good weekend and successful first day of priority registration.

Below are ideas and information on engaging students virtually shared at a UPAC learning community meeting this morning:

  *   Paint class (live streaming painting from a local Tucson business. It was free and made me forget about the world for about 2 hours :) - advisor)


  *   AZ Online students had a watch party when ESPN did a re-run of the 1997 BBall championship


  *   HouseParty app that allows one to play Headsup, pictionary etc. with groups


  *   Themed classes (Hogwarts, spirit weeks :), Linguistics professor, taught a class in Klingon, in costume with a Zoom background in starship


  *   Dava shared: The BE Department has open hours three times a week, in Zoom, that the students and faculty can log into and discuss anything.


  *   Erin Whitting (writing program): my husband teaches in the writing program and he's going to do a Zoom dance party


  *   A-Center: Fortnite virtual games on Fridays


  *   All were reminded to use passwords with zoom.


  *   Online: I read that Zoom is also resetting default settings for HE and organizations in order to prevent zoombombing
