Attached is an updated version of the academic eligibility policy proposal.  Please send me any feedback to compile on behalf of CALS to share with Cynthia, Roxie and our CALS voting reps on CAAC and UGC (names below)or if you prefer to email them directly please copy me on the email.

Thank you for the feedback regarding the Academic Eligibility Policy. We heard many good suggestions over the last month and we are glad for the continued dialogue. This is an issue that is important for all of us as a campus community.

After synthesizing the recommendations, we have updated the policy (attached). Additionally, we changed or clarified key points regarding intervention, practice, and process. Please see the updates below.

1- We have received significant feedback regarding the status word choice. As such, we have updated the statuses to:

Eligible

Academic Warning

Academic Probation

Ineligible

Academic Review

2 - The communication and intervention responsibilities for Academic Probation will stay exactly as they are now.

3- Colleges/schools will be responsible for communicating with students on Academic Warning and will provide the communication and intervention they deem appropriate.

4 - Colleges/schools will be responsible for communicating with students on Academic Review and will provide the communication and intervention they deem appropriate.

5 - The appeal process will be developed over the next 6 months through a task force in which every college/school will assign a representative to help define the process.

6 - Communication about academic statuses will be posted in UAccess but formal notices will come from the colleges/schools not from a centralized group

7 - The $100 academic recovery fee will be removed
