​QPR Suicide Prevention Class open to UA Community



National Suicide Prevention Week<https://afsp.org/campaigns/national-suicide-prevention-week-2017/> is September 10-16, 2017.  Many of us have been affected by suicide and it remains one of the leading causes of death among college students.



In recognition of this important public health issue, the UA Campus Health Service will offer a free, 2-hour QPR Suicide Prevention class that is open to the UA Campus Community.  QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.



Date: Wednesday, September 13th

Time: 2-4pm

Location: Campus Health/Highland Commons Building Room B 307



As a QPR-trained gatekeeper you will learn to:

-Recognize the warning signs of suicide

-Know how to offer hope

-Know how to get help and save a life
