Greetings Agvisors:
Attached is a list of CALS students by major that qualify to apply to the UROC program below. There will be an information session this Thursday 10/19 from 12-1pm of which all have been invited to (email invite below). Feel free to send them a personal invite if you would like as well to encourage them to consider this opportunity. Nura Dualeh will be at the Agvisors meeting on Wednesday to talk further about this and other UROC programs. Thank you in advance.

Congratulations on your scholastic achievements at the University of Arizona!
You are receiving this email as a qualified CALS student for a program that provides many benefits (see below). To learn more about the program you are invited to an information session this Thursday 10/19 from 12-1pm with free pizza at Forbes room 202 (CALS Career Center). Come learn about the benefits – it’s truly an information session with free lunch to learn if this is something for you. Keep your options open and take advantage of the opportunities available to you. UROC benefits include: access to faculty supervised research projects, assistance with graduate school applications and GRE prep classes, and a $4000 summer stipend for 10-weeks of research. Here’s additional useful information:
· Enhances student learning through mentoring relationships with faculty
· Increases retention, enrollment in graduate education and provides effective career preparation
· Develops critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving and intellectual independence
· Develops an understanding of research methodology
· Promotes an innovation-oriented culture
UROC Fast Facts:
· 90% of UROC-PREP/STAR scholars who graduated May 2017 enrolled in grad/professional programs, fall 2017
· UROC takes ALL majors, not just STEM. Students in Fine Arts, Humanities, Social Behavioral Sciences, Education, Public Health, etc. should apply!
· UROC is not just a summer program (that deadline is Feb. 1)
· UROC provides access to research and graduate school preparation services
· UROC seeks juniors and seniors with a 3.0 GPA or above, who have a sincere interest in graduate school
