[Agvisors] Club Events, Updates & Info Request

Hello Advisors: A few club events and updates, also a request for additional information. A similar message will be shared with department heads. Let me know if you have any questions!


1.       CALS Reverse Career Fair, Thursday, October 12, Noon - 4pm, Forbes Courtyard

*         Encourage your student clubs to register for the CALS Reverse Career Fair! In addition to a dedicated opportunity to network with employers, participating student clubs will also have access to a professional headshot photographer and will have their member resumes included in the Resume Book. UA News will run a story about the event after it takes place; student participants will be interviewed and photographed for that story. I sent a message to the student club leaders I'm currently aware of; please encourage all clubs to register their club today! 2.       CALS Student Club Grant Funding

*         In previous years the CALS Alumni Development Office funded a small grant opportunity for student clubs. Coordination of that funding opportunity has transitioned to CAS; I'm working with Camille Andersen to finalize the application, budget, etc. Three things are important to share with your student clubs:

                                                               i.      All CALS student clubs will be eligible to apply for funding

                                                             ii.      The application will open on Friday, October 6 and close at midnight on Sunday, October 29

                                                           iii.      Clubs that participate in the CALS Reverse Career Fair<https://cals.arizona.edu/events/cals-reverse-career-fair> on 10/12/17 will receive priority review of their application

3.       AgriLife Council

*         I've received questions about the current status of AgriLife Council - specifically, students are asking "Does AgriLife Council still exist?" The answer to that is yes! The college strongly supports the collaborative nature of AgriLife Council. I'm planning an informal gathering to re-ignite the AgriLife Council; leaders of all CALS student clubs (whether or not they were previously part of AgriLife Council) will be invited! Please have your student clubs leaders contact me with any questions.

4.       Information Request
