Greetings Agvisors:

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday break and happy prosperous new year once again.

Friendly reminders for this week and next:

1. Today Jan. 4th by 5pm the Fall 2016 probation report follow-ups are due. If you agree with the recommendations listed for your students you do not need to reply, unless you want to send a courtesy response.

2. Thursday Jan. 5th International student orientation (currently 3 students). Advising scheduled at 1pm with schedule changes to begin at 3pm.

3. Friday Jan. 6th from 12-1pm Agvisors Brown Bag will take place at Forbes 307 (dessert will be provided). The discussion topic will be on course policies referring to Tier I and II general education courses. The plan is to come up with key points to present to our CALS faculty representatives to take to their respective committees in the near future.

4. Friday Jan. 6th Transfer orientation (currently 15 students). Advising scheduled at 3pm.

5. Monday Jan. 9th Freshmen orientation (currently 9 students). Advising scheduled at 2:30pm, with schedule changes beginning at 3pm in Forbes 202.

6. GRO policy<http://catalog.arizona.edu/policy/grade-replacement-opportunity-gro> has been updated and will be enforced this Spring 2017. Students that have 59 earned units or less qualify to apply for GRO. The Registrar's office may be sending a reminder announcement via email reminding all on this update. Advisors can still run a report on UAccess Analytics to determine if a student is eligible or you can view a students earned units on:

UAccess Student Center - Records and Enrollment - Student Term Info - Term History. In the Term History refer to the Cumulative Statistics tab and then look at the value listed in the Enrollment section for "Units Earned Towards Acad Load". If the number is 59 or lower the student should be eligible to use GRO (screenshot below). E grades and W grades will not be counting towards GRO eligibility, but any passed course (including grades of S and P) will count.
