FYR, in case you're not on the UPAC list.

The SBS central advising unit is working on obtaining a list of general education courses offered during the same timeframe to provide students with options. Students should be notified via email on these options. It could be that students may reach out to you to inquire on GE specific courses they need since the list of options may not just be 150 courses.

Good morning everyone.

Due to circumstances beyond the department’s control, the in-person GWS 150 Gender and Contemporary Society this semester is cancelled.  When the class meets at 11 am this morning, they will be told the class is cancelled and to contact their advisor for help with problems this causes with their fall schedules.

GWS 150 will be offered as an online course in the second seven week session this fall.  Several lower division GWS courses are still open.  If the student is a first semester freshman, you might suggest GWS 160C1 Technology and Society: Introduction to Science, Technology and Society.  If you think the student can handle a 200-level course, we suggest GWS 200 Women and Society (Tier 2 Humanities) or GWS 240 Gender in a Transnational world (Tier 2 Individuals and Societies).

Thank you for helping us get these students into another  course.
