CALS Students if you are retaking a class this term that you formerly earned a C, D or E grade.....continue reading!
The GRO Filing Deadline is this coming Sunday, September 18th. It is your responsibility to file the GRO through your UAccess Student Center homepage.
You will need to thoroughly review the information on the links shown below and submit the GRO form electronically after the class has started. You will want to make sure that your schedule (on your UAccess homepage) indicates "Potential GRO" next to the course right after you submit it online. If this does not occur, re-submit the GRO form but make sure you do so by 9/18 the latest.

Grade Replacement Opportunity (GRO)
Grade Replacement Opportunity (GRO) offers students the ability to replace grades of C, D, and E by repeating the course. Only the grade from the repeat attempt will be used to calculate the grade point average, but students MUST file for the GRO online form for this to occur. For details, see the undergraduate GRO policy<http://catalog.arizona.edu/policy/grade-replacement-opportunity-gro> in the catalog.

GRO Request
GRO requests may now be submitted through UAccess Student during filing periods. A GRO tab has been added to UAcces Student Center for undergraduate student only. Students who wish to file a GRO will acess this tab to submit a GRO request during the GRO filing period for each eligible course. The process is the same for both Regular Dated Classes and Dynamically Dated Classes. Please see GRO Filing Deadlines<http://registrar.arizona.edu/courses/dates-deadlines?audience=students&cat1=10&cat2=30>.
Steps for filing GRO Requests
1. Register for the repeated course.
2. Access the GRO tab in UAccess Student.
3. Read and accept the GRO Policy terms.
4. Complete the GRO request.
Examples of why GRO requests will not be processed
* You have already attempted 60 units at the University of Arizona. (This first bullet point will change from "attempted" to "earned" units starting Spring 2017. Talk to your advisor if you currently have 60 attempted units. Attempted units includes "W" grades; earned units will not include "W" grades in the 60 unit count to determine qualification of this policy).
* The original course is still graded as Incomplete ("I").
* The repeat course is not equivalent to the original course (e.g. titles and/or subtitles must match).
* You have already completed the maximum of three courses under the GRO option.
* You have exceeded the maximum of 10 semester hours allowed under the GRO option.
* You have already received a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona, thus, are ineligible for the GRO option.
* The course was already repeated under GRO in a previous semester.
Separate policies exist for Law students. The dean of Law College can provide examples of why GRO request will not be processed.
Recalculation of cumulative GPA as result of GRO
As a result of GRO, a student's cumulative GPA is typically recalculated at the end of each terms' grade processing - this is when final grades are available.
