Good Morning Everyone,

Thanks again for expressing your support for the Advising on the Mall program.  We wanted to follow-up with more concrete dates and how Advising on the Mall will be set up.  A version of this email just went out to our volunteers from UPAC, but we appreciate your help in spreading the word through your colleges, as well.

As of right now, we are tentatively set-up to share some space in the Office of Student Engagement.  We are planning on placing signs throughout the union to direct students to our station, and on certain days, CLAS will be providing ambassadors and paraprofessionals to help promote the service out on the mall.

In order to stagger between class times, we are looking at doing Advising on the Mall for five weeks, two hours per day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (and to correspond with priority registration).  The five weeks will start Oct. 11th. For each session, we are aiming to have two advisors available. It is not our intention to schedule advisors for every available session they sign-up to do; we are looking at having each individual participate for one or two sessions.  In addition to providing a presence, we are hoping to have hand-outs available for students.  Please let Laura and me know if you would like to provide any materials for the booth area; we'd love to have a good variety of handouts from all the colleges.

Again, thanks for indicating your support in the program.  We hope Advising on the Mall will help bring some visibility to advising and foster cross-collaboration efforts.  Please don't hesitate to ask Laura or me any questions you may have.
