Greetings Agvisors:

Attached are documents regarding the Wildcat Academy (WA) Program courses - SBS100X and LASC100X.

CALS students that qualify for this program will be enrolled in SBS100X. We have proposed for a course title change to be more inclusive of ALL majors (not just SBS).  The current SBS100X course title is: "Success in SBS: Wildcat Academy".  As previously mentioned, colleges were not asked for feedback on this prior to the launch.

I will keep you updated on any information that is sent.

We are expecting a total of 57 students for tomorrow's orientation of which 7 are WA eligible.  Happy Advising and thank you for all you do in welcoming CALS students!

General Math announcement from Tina Moore:

Hi,

I need your help!
Please direct incoming freshman students who have any college math credits to math
advising at orientation. It would be a huge help if you could announce this
at both your morning and afternoon meetings with the students at orientation.

Math advisors are available at orientation in the Ventana room 11am-1pm,
and again at the ILC change of schedule site 3-5pm.

We do honor credits, but want to talk to and advise students when there is a
mismatch between their math credits and math placement test scores, particularly
when the student needs to continue on to another math or science course. We give them
links to review and help them figure out the best course to take next.  We also talk to
students who are awaiting AP math credits, which are usually not available until
early July.
