Attached is a list of students invited to Phi Beta Kappa honor society. Below is the email that was sent to them to consider applying.  Limited to certain majors across campus. Encourage them to consider joining.

Another list will be sent out soon with Phi Kappa Phi honor society invites. PKP does not have an application process.  Students are invited based on their academic status ranking. They must be in the top 10 % of their class per major (all disciplines included) with JR and SR status. Graduate students are also invited.

Both are official honor societies.  The UA Honors College assists with running the lists of qualified candidates.

If you are interested in becoming a member of Phi Beta Kappa, please summarize your reasons in a one page maximum letter and attach a recommendation letter from one faculty member or advisor attesting to your academic record and moral character. Convert your letter and recommendation letter into one pdf document with your name as the file name and email to pbk at email.arizona.edu<mailto:pbk at email.arizona.edu> before Tuesday, March 1st at 11 pm. The membership requests will be reviewed by the Members in Course Committee, which will submit the recommended list of candidates to the resident Phi Beta Kappa members for a vote. Students recommended for membership to the Alpha of Arizona Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa will be required to pay a onetime lifelong membership fee of $85 and will be invited to the Phi Beta Kappa Initiation Ceremony held on May 1st. Please email pbk at email.arizona.edu<mailto:pbk at email.arizona.edu> if payment of the membership fee would cause a financial hardship.

Election to Phi Beta Kappa is a singular honor, one of the highest you can attain from your collegiate experience; it represents to the world at large that the member achieved a high level of academic scholarship, made intelligent choices, studied the broad areas of the liberal arts and sciences, and set and reached high goals for themselves.
