Subject: Re: UA Legislative Internship Program
Importance: High
Good afternoon,
Please allow me to introduce myself; my name is Andrew Escoto, Assistant Director for Legislative Affairs in the UA's Office of State Relations. As many of you know, SBS coordinates the University's Legislative Internship Program each year. However, this year State Relations will be assisting SBS in its recruitment efforts for the internship program and we would like to reach out to you for help!
Background Information
This is a great opportunity for students from across the university to receive credit and be paid to work at the State Capitol for an entire semester. More information on the program can be found at the following website: www.arizona.edu/realworldintern<http://www.arizona.edu/realworldintern>. The site provides information on eligibility as well as the times for information sessions. I will be will also be hosting several student workshops to help them prepare applications and get ready for their interviews.
Your help makes a difference!
We are looking for courses where staff representatives from the House, Senate, Governor's Office, and Supreme Court can visit for 10 minutes and briefly introduce the program to students. While we are looking to recruit juniors and seniors ( as well as graduate students), larger Tier 2 GE courses are also excellent places for visits. Please let me know if there is a course or two that might work. Our office will host representatives on Monday, September 15th from 11:00AM to 5:00PM. Although representatives will be on campus for most of the day, we have carved out time for classroom visits from 11:00-11:50AM and 2:00-2:50PM. Your help is greatly appreciated!
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns as I would be more than happy to address them! My contact information has been included below for your convenience.

Good afternoon Ms. Jones,
Please allow me to introduce myself; my name is Andrew Escoto, Assistant Director for Legislative Affairs in the UA's Office of State Relations. I am contacting you following a conversation with Pam Coonan, Director of Academic Affairs and Enrollment Manager in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, in regards to the UA's Legislative Internship Program.
I was advised by Pam Coonan to speak with you in order to contact Associate Deans in charge of academic instruction via the CAAC list serv. State Relations is the new primary contact and recruitment coordinator for the internship program on campus.nIt is the hope and intention of State Relations to reach out to each appropriate Associate Dean on campus to schedule 5-10 minute classroom presentations on the legislative internship program on Tuesday, September 3rd.
Please excuse my ignorance but can you please confirm that you are the appropriate contact to forward our request to appropriate associate deans? I would love to connect with you to speak more about what we are hoping to schedule in the coming week. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best,
