Greetings Agvisors:
This afternoon a message will be posted to the UPAC listserv announcing the go-live date for the on-line degree candidacy/audit application (which might be today).
Attached is the degree audit sheet that CALS will be using. Make sure you print it in pink paper (double-sided). We can provide you with copies if you would like, just let me know.
The email that Jody Payne from the Registrar's office will send, will include the checklist on what students will receive (I am expecting something similar to what I shared at the September Agvisors meeting). All students that have 90 or more completed units that have not filed for their degree candidacy as of today will be receiving an email letting them know they qualify to apply for graduation. The message will also indicate if they have fewer than 30 units pending to complete their degree requirements they should proceed with the on-line application; otherwise they should hold off on it.
Additional steps for CALS students:
* After they fill out the application they will be referred to their major advisor to continue the degree audit process. This is when you as the major advisor will fill out the degree audit form (pink sheet). Please attach an advisement report (ADVIP) to the degree audit form and sign it.
* If the student has a minor and the ADVIP lists it as 'not satisfied' refer them to their minor advisor.
* Make students aware that they will also need an honors advisor signature if they plan to graduate with honors. Refer them to the Honors College at the Slonaker House, if applicable.
* Once students obtain the major, minor (if applicable), honors (if applicable) they are to submit it to myself or Kristen Geary in Forbes Room 211 to finalize the process.
* Once Kristen and/or I sign off on behalf of the college dean we will then provide it to Julie Adkins for final auditing.
* Students will be able to see where they stand on the checklist (additional details will be provided from Jody Payne).
The attached degree audit form is formatted as a checklist to make it easier for all to address the UA policies. As always, keep us posted if we can assist in any way.
It's a big change for us, but am confident it will work out great! If you have any suggestions also let me know.
Thanks for all you do.
Best regards,
Nancy
