Soon students will also receive an invite to another national honor society,
Phi Kappa Phi ( <http://www.phikappaphi.org/> www.phikappaphi.org).  Phi
Kappa Phi is inclusive of more majors.  Robert Forbes and Andrew Douglass
were both members of Phi Kappa Phi.

 

Students can join both or either honor societies if invited. Phi Beta Kappa
and Phi Kappa Phi are nationally recognized with active UA chapters.

 

**I did submit a response to Emily Kotay correcting her on the information
re the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology major (in Science not CALS).

The Excel spreadsheet attached is a list of students from your college that
have been invited to become a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor
Society. The invitation letter they've received is also attached to this
email, and here's a link where advisors and students can find out more
information about Phi Beta Kappa:

It would be wonderful if these students' advisors could encourage their
students to become a member. To become a member students must submit a
one-page statement about why they want to be a part of Phi Beta Kappa, and
provide one reference letter from a faculty member or advisor attesting to
their academic record and moral character. They must convert their letter
and recommendation letter into one pdf document with their name as the file
name and email this document to  <mailto:pbk at email.arizona.edu>
pbk at email.arizona.edu by Saturday, March 1st. 

 

The Excel spreadsheet is organized by major, so students' major advisors can
easily see whom to contact. I've also included the students' email
addresses.
