B2 offers unique opportunities because of its ability to combine varying scales, precise manipulation, and fine monitoring in controlled experiments related to hydrology, geology, geochemistry, ecology, biology, physics, engineering, and atmospheric sciences. Continuation of projects beyond the initial semester internship is encouraged. A B2 van typically drives from UA main campus to B2 each weekday and can be utilized by active interns. B2 internship details and application forms can be found on the Honors College website, under the “Internship” tab. <http://www.honors.arizona.edu/students/professional-development-internships>

Confluencecenter for Creative Inquiry
The Honors College, in partnership with the Confluencecenter for Creative Inquiry (CCI), has developed internship opportunities for THREE Honors students per semester. These internships are suited for Honors students who are interested in contributing to interdisciplinary collaborative research in the areas of the Southwest, Native American, Borderlands and Latin American studies, creative and performing arts, and social and cultural studies. CCI internship details and application forms can be found on the Honors College website, <http://www.honors.arizona.edu/students/professional-development-internships> under the “Internship” tab.

The Colibri Center for Human Rights
Since 2001 more than 2,000 bodies of undocumented migrants have been found in the Sonoran desert of Southern Arizona and brought to the Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Colibri Center for Human Rights has been working with the Medical Examiner’s Office to collect information on missing persons last seen crossing the U.S.-Mexico border and compares this information to records of unidentified decedents believed to be migrants found on the U.S.-side of the border. The Colibri Center is working to organize and centralize such information for the entire border, providing human rights assistance to families and support to local counties investigating the deaths of migrants.

Under the direction of medical anthropologist Dr. Victor Braitberg, a select group of FIVE to EIGHT Honors College students will have the opportunity to assist The Colibri Center in matching missing person’s reports with unidentified human remains. Additionally, students who are fluent in Spanish will conduct telephone interviews with families of the missing to obtain personally identifiable information about their loved ones that could be useful in making matches. This is a unique opportunity for students to make original matches that will enable families to obtain answers to the fate of their loved ones. Colibri Center internship details and application forms can be found on the Honors College website, <http://www.honors.arizona.edu/students/professional-development-internships> under the “Internship” tab.

National Institute for Civil Discourse
The Honors College, in partnership with the National Institute for Civil Discourse (NICD), is seeking SIX qualified undergraduate students who are interested in exploring the role of civil discourse in democratic society. Each student will complete an original research project to advance the goals of the Institute. Research projects will be tailored to individual student interests, but could include topics such as the impact of civil discourse on effective policymaking, the contributions of citizen deliberation, analysis of debate rhetoric, or how polarization changes message interpretation. Students majoring in political science, pre law, or philosophy may find this internship especially applicable to their area of study. NICD internship details and application forms can be found on the Honors College website, under the “Internship” tab. <http://www.honors.arizona.edu/students/professional-development-internships>

HUMS 497H is offered each fall, and is available to Honors students in all majors. Free drop-in services calendar (with different locations, including online tutoring); I'm also attaching our private tutoring list.

Lastly, we are now offering private group tutoring for groups of 2-3 students. It's an affordable alternative to individual tutoring and allows students to continue to work with others outside of their session, hopefully promoting study groups. Students can submit individual and group tutoring requests at <http://thinktank.arizona.edu/tutoring/private-tutoring-request-form> http://thinktank.arizona.edu/tutoring/private-tutoring-request-form
