The Entrepreneurial Advantage!

Today's idea age economy requires professionals in all fields to act in innovative and entrepreneurial ways, or at minimum, to understand and appreciate entrepreneurial principles and activities.

Entrepreneurship education gives UA graduates an unparalleled competitive edge in any field - whether seeking employment or creating their own.

The McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship<http://entrepreneurship.arizona.edu/> is excited to offer a new Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minor, first available Fall 2012.

Entrepreneurship is the skill to spot opportunity and build success - not just in business, but in art, engineering, family studies, chemistry, Russian, music, ecology, retailing and every other field. The EI Minor is a customizable 18-unit program available to all non-Eller, UA undergraduate students. It includes 200- to 400-level classes to accommodate students in any year of study.

EI Minor Requirements:
*         Six 3-unit courses (18 units total)
*         Minimum 9 units upper division coursework
*         At least 9 units must be completed in residence at the University of Arizona
*         Can be taken along with Business Administration Minor, Marketing Minor, or Sports Management Minor

Based on the universal value of entrepreneurial and innovative knowledge and skill, the completion of the minor will increase the overall competitiveness of students in the professional field and will extend the lifespan of their skill sets, enabling them to act and react to rapidly changing conditions through their professional careers.

Open Innovation Competition: EI Minor Community Builder

We're asking students to bring us their real, actionable ideas for building a sense of community for the diverse group of students enrolled in the EI Minor. Students don't have to be an EI Minor to propose an idea and teams are welcome to submit proposals. The winning proposal will receive a cash prize and-if interested in running the community-will have first refusal right for the EI Minor Community Ambassador position (employment interest is not a condition of participation).
