Subject: Q & A on STU 210

1.

Advisors:

I hope the following Q & A with Sarah is helpful.

Q: Q: Will STU 210 students be assigned enrollment appointments when
current students are assigned theirs?

A: Yes, STU 210 students will be assigned their enrollment appointments
during the process by which continuing students get them. We started doing
so last week and plan for all of the appointments to be assigned by this
Wednesday.

Q: In the transfer credit report, at what point do their transfer courses
go from "accepted" to "posted"?

A: Although transfer students, STU 210 included, get matriculated upon
completion of the online academic tour (now known as the TSAP), they do not
get term activated for their admission term until the enrollment appointment
assignment process begins. This prevents the transfer credit from being
posted to a student's record as it needs the student to be term activated in
order to be posted. Discussions are currently happening to see if we can
move the term activation process earlier (with matriculation) to help
alleviate the problems this causes.

Also, this from Sarah:

Even after a student is matriculated, the Academics tab of Student Services
Center remains blank until he/she is term activated. However, the student
DOES have a program/plan stack. The advisor needs to go to the 'real'
navigation for the program/plan stack (not just the view in Student Services
Center) which is located in Records and Enrollment>Career and Program
Info>Student Program/Plan. When advisors view program/plan info in Student
Services Center and click on the Edit Program Data button, it actually takes
them directly to this navigation.

The following was sent to the UPAC listserv on Feb. 22:

The UA Next Steps Center Administrative page in UAccess Student provides
users with one stop accessibility to information about an applicant as it
pertains to the Next Steps processes. The information available on this
screen includes, but is not limited to;

-Enrollment Deposit Status

-Orientation Session Information

-Completion of the Online Academic Tour (renamed to the Transfer Student
Academic Preview)

-Student Groups

-If the student has submitted a FAFSA

To navigate to the page proceed to;

Student Admissions>Applicant Summaries>UA Next Steps Admin

All users with view access should have access to these pages. If you do not
have access, you will need to work with your manager to request access to
Admissions Data View.

Finally, we learned today that a significant number of STU 210 students have
not completed the TSAP. A message has been sent to the Pima instructors to
remind students to do so right away. Without the TSAP they cannot be
matriculated (or term activated with an enrollment appointment set).
