Subject: Second Language Exams for transfer students, etc.
Good afternoon!
I just wanted to take this opportunity to revisit the Second Language Exams
administered by the College of Humanities Technology, Research and
Instructional Computing Team:
1. Exams are offered for the following languages ONLY: French, German,
Latin, Russian, and/or Spanish. Students that have questions about other
languages not offered by the College of Humanities, need to contact the
appropriate department.
2. Unfortunately, transfer students cannot take the on line exam (I do not
know why). Please give them the following information for signing up to take
the exam:
*Visit <http://w3.coh.arizona.edu/advising/>
http://w3.coh.arizona.edu/advising/
*Select "Language Placement Exam Appointment"
*Be sure to read the instructions carefully for time and location
information.
*Questions? <mailto:cohadv at email.arizona.edu> cohadv at email.arizona.edu
The exam will be given on the following days: August 10, 17, and 24; Sept.
14 and 28; Oct. 12 and 26; Nov. 9 and 23; Dec. 14. At this point, given the
parameters of the appointment system, students should sign up about 6 days
in advance of the date they wish to take the exam.
3. Those students who took the on line exam and wish to take the proctored
one, should follow the instructions above.
4. Any current student who has not taken the exam and needs to, should
follow the instructions above.
5. Please remember that the on line exam is a PLACEMENT exam and cannot be
used to satisfy the proficiency requirement. Students must either take the
course they placed into or take the proctored exam.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
Thank you!
