Teach For America: FINAL Application Deadline 2/10/2012
Teach For America is the national corps of outstanding recent college
graduates, graduate students, and professionals who commit to teach for two
years in urban and rural public schools and become lifelong leaders in
expanding educational opportunity.
This year, 9,300 corps member are teaching in 43 regions across the country,
while nearly 24,000 Teach For America alumni continue working from inside
and outside the field of education for the fundamental changes necessary to
ensure educational excellence and equity.

Well Paid Summer Internship for Underclassmen: Application Deadline
1/29/2012
In the summer of 2012, Teach For America will hold nine training institutes
in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, the Mississippi Delta, New York
City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Tulsa. We are looking for committed
undergraduates to serve as operations coordinators (OCs) at each of the
institutes. OCs will help support our effort to manage and maintain
successful summer institutes that each serve approximately 500 corps
members, 100 staff members, and over 1,500 summer school students. While
OCs will not work directly with summer school students, they will play an
integral role in the daily operations of our program that trains incoming
corps members and gain unique insight into Teach For America.

vary across the institutes and operations coordinators are paid hourly for
the duration of the commitment. OCs are required to live on-site at our
institutes, so room, board, and some travel and shipping costs are provided
for all staff members.

Social Innovation Challenge & Alternative Spring Break: Application Deadline

The Basics
Dates: March 18-24, 2012
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Fees: Zappos.com will pay for airfare, meals, local transportation (students
are responsible for transportation to and from their local airports and any
incidentals). Lodging will be with current Las Vegas Valley Teach For
America corps members.
Participants: 25 students (underclassmen), Zappos.com professionals, Teach
For America corps members and staff.

Who's it for?
You must be a freshman, sophomore, or junior in college who can attend a
spring break between
March 18th and March 24th. We are seeking applicants who are passionate
about and driven by
the objective of expanding opportunities for all children, especially in low
income communities.
Although prior experience working in education is not required, all
participants should show
evidence of a strong desire to learn about the achievement gap and a
commitment to closing it.
Additionally, we are looking for participants who are risk-friendly and open
to trying out new
approaches or taking less-familiar pathways. The ability to inspire and
invest others in your goals
or vision is also critical.
What is it?
The Teach For America - Las Vegas Valley & Zappos.com Alternative Spring
Break is intended
to spark bold, new innovations that expand opportunities and close the
achievement gap in the
Las Vegas Valley community. Applicants will submit their solutions to one of
three challenges
being posed via video by three Las Vegas Valley corps members. Twenty five
students will be
selected and invited to join Teach For America- Las Vegas Valley,
Zappos.com, and Las Vegas
Valley community leaders for an all expenses paid alternative spring break
trip to the Las Vegas
Valley in March. Participants will continue the spirit of social innovation
and tackle community,
school, and business challenges in Las Vegas with Zappos.com, Teach For
America corps
members and staff, and other Las Vegas Valley community leaders. You can

How does it work? Application submission process
The online application platform opens December 5th at 9am EDT and will close
on January 29th,
2012 at 5pm PDT. Applications will be accepted through the Vator platform.
The complete
application consists of two parts - a Google Survey and creating a response
to one of three
challenge videos that will be posted onto our Vator platform for
consideration by the Judges. All of
