HI,


Just a few updated and reminders:

1) Math 100B: 
For some reason, students who completed Math 100AX are having a 
difficult time adding math 100B to their spring schedules.  The 
UAccess team is working on this. In the meantime, please direct these
students to the Math Department room 108, or placement at math.arizona.edu
with a request to add math 100B. 

2) Next Steps:
All incoming students make their first attempt at the UA Math Placement
Test through the Next Steps Center, nextsteps.arizona.edu, prior to the
first
day of classes .  Next Steps is only available through Jan 10, 2012, as 
it is a portal for incoming students. On Jan 11, everyone is a current 
student and testing is then through the UA Testing Office.

Transfer students may not need to test, but should click on and READ
the information on the Math Links in Next Steps, and REFRESH their 
checklist in order to get the OK (!) on the math portions.  This will 
not impede their ability to register. That is tied to completion of the 
Online Academic Tour.  We are hearing from many transfer students 
about this, so please help me get the word out.

3)  Please direct students with math placement questions to
placement at math.arizona.edu,
Math Department room 108, or 520 621 6892.  Email is preferred.  We have a
team
of individuals ready to answer questions and help students.  

I have attached a flier with information for you to provide to students
about
contacting Math.  Math room 108 is available M-F 8am to 5pm .
