Hello everyone!

 

I hope you had a great summer.  If you are like me, seeing our student
leaders begin to trickle back into campus this week is energizing.  I am
excited for the year to begin!

 

As part of an intentional effort to increase new student's engagement and
connection with the UA community we have expanded and relocated New Student
Convocation.  It will be held on Sunday, August 21 from 6-7p.m. In the
McKale Center (enter through the North entrances).  The Convocation ceremony
has been re-formatted to connect students with the UA, their college and the
spirit and tradition of being a Wildcat.  I will be a fun event that will
motivate students on the eve of their new academic journey.  

 

A welcome event will take place from 5-6pm in the Rec Center MAC Gym for all
freshman living off campus.these students will travel to New Student
Convocation together.  Following New Student Convocation all new students
will be able to attend a celebration in their honor outside McKale.and all
attendees will receive a very cool UA t-shirt, designed specially for this
occasion.  

 

Please help us fill the McKale Center by spreading the word about New
Student Convocation to your student leaders.  We really want to see everyone
there.  You and your staff are welcome and encouraged to be there to join in
the welcome and celebration!
