[Uaturfinfo] UArizona Cooperative Extension COVID-19 phased mitigation strategy

Dear Families, Friends, Volunteers, and Supporters,

I hope this email finds you and your family well and safe.  Your support of University of Arizona Cooperative Extension programming is greatly appreciated. In our current challenging time, this support is even more important as Cooperative Extension employees and volunteers work diligently to adapt programming and outreach to meet the changing needs of our communities.

As we look forward, we remind ourselves and our partners that Cooperative Extension is committed to the health and safety of our youth, volunteers, staff, families, and our communities.  We are happy to share that starting August 19, UA Cooperative Extension will adopt a county-by-county approach to COVID-19 operational and mitigation strategies, using a 0-4-phase system.  Every two weeks, each county will assess the impacts of COVID-19 within their community and determine the operational phase for in-person delivery. County-based operational phases will be announced here: https://extension.arizona.edu/phased-operational-plan.

We will continue to use data available to recommend phase changes for the office to the University.  Once approved, the status will be updated every two weeks on the website above.

I appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we begin to bring our employees back to the office and initiate, albeit restricted, face-to-face programs, and meetings.

I truly appreciate all the support I have seen from our partners, families, and volunteers.  Your dedication to our youth and clientele has been exceptional.  I also want to thank our employees who have adopted new technologies and new methods of programming to continue to provide programming for the people and communities in Maricopa County and beyond.
