[Uaturfinfo] Baseball Field Turf Management Field Day and Reminder for Short Course

*** Plan to attend a Baseball Field Turfgrass Management Field Day on Thursday, September 10 at the Scottsdale Stadium practice field complex.  It is targeted for all baseball field facilities personnel and administrators of high schools, community colleges, and municipalities to learn about managing turfgrasses as the professionals do.  With overseeding around the corner, there will be inside presentations for prepping the field before dropping seed and outside demonstrations about infield skins care, irrigation system efficiency, calibrating seed spreaders, controlling winter weeds, painting fields vs. overseeding, and observing various turf management equipment.
CEU’s have been applied for AZ Dept of Agriculture and OPM.  The event is cost free and limited to “1st come, 1st served”.

*** The Annual Maricopa County Short Course about “Utility of New Insecticide Modes of Action in Crops and Turf & Ornamentals: Preserving Them for the Long Term” will be next week, Thursday, August 27 at the Maricopa County Cooperative Extension office in Phx. 5 hours of CEU’s have been granted. There is no cost for the short course.
