FAA Releases Long-Awaited Draft Rule

on BVLOS Operations (Part 108)


Today, the FAA released the long-anticipated draft of Part 108: the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone operations.

This is a major milestone for the industry and for ADI. After nearly 330 days of delay, we commend the FAA staff for moving this critical rule forward.



Last week, ADI's founder and president, Will Dawson, joined fellow industry leaders on stage at the AUVSI Drone & AAM Symposium to emphasize just how vital a smart and workable BVLOS rule will be in unlocking the full potential of UAVs in agriculture.



With the draft rule now in hand, we're ready to get to work.



What's next:
ADI will be engaging with members, policymakers, and partners to ensure that the voices of America's farmers and agricultural drone manufacturers are front and center in this process. Our goal is a final rule that balances safety with innovation and opens the door for American leadership in agricultural UAV technology.
