A Message from the ALVSCE Staff Council

Whether you’re on the university’s main campus, remote, distance, at one of our Arizona Experiment Station sites, or at one of our Cooperative Extension offices, we are here to advocate for you and support you in any way that we can.  The ALVSCE Staff Council represents the interests of all staff and postdocs within the division by advocating with leadership, promoting awareness of division-wide initiatives, and creating events focused on engagement and professional development.   Our goal is to support staff growth, foster connections, and provide valuable resources.

We want to thank the new representatives who started in July 2024, and a big thank you to those who stepped down from the Council after serving their terms.

A few updates:


  *   Awards: This year, in lieu of our semi-annual awards ceremony, we will host an annual awards ceremony to honor four outstanding staff members in Spring 2025. We cannot wait to celebrate your accomplishments this Spring. Keep an eye out for more information to come.


  *   Volunteer Week:  We are planning to host a week of volunteering where ALVSCE students, faculty, and staff are able to give back to our communities in ways we don't already do every day. Please complete our interest form<https://forms.office.com/r/r9w1mTdiVL> by 9/22 .


  *   Post Doc Representative:  Nathaniel Ponvert is the ALVSCE Staff Council Post Doc Representative for this year.  He will serve as a liaison for postdocs.  Please feel free to reach out to him at nponvert at arizona.edu<mailto:nponvert at arizona.edu> with any questions or further information.
