[Staff] ALVSCE Gives Back Week!

We, ALVSCE Staff Council, are excited to announce our inaugural ALVSCE Gives Back week this year from October 27th through November 2nd. Held in tandem with UA Cares, this week is an opportunity for us all to embody the ALVSCE divisional value of compassion and give back to our communities beyond what we do every day. We challenge all our staff to find some time to volunteer in their community during that week.

The ALVSCE Staff Council has organized 2 volunteer opportunities in Tucson with Ben’s Bells (October 29) and the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona (October 30). Visit this link for more information and to RSVP. <https://forms.office.com/r/jUdut1hSkn>  Please RSVP by October 25th at 12PM.

For those not able to join us in person, we have also compiled a list of additional volunteer opportunities<https://compass.arizona.edu/content/alvsce-staff-council> that you can take part in around the community or from the comfort of your home. We encourage all our staff to volunteer with non-profits that are close to your home- and your heart!

As a reminder, the university provides full-benefits-eligible employees up to eight hours of paid time off each calendar year for volunteer activity that meets certain qualifying conditions. Note that per the policy, employers must request and receive prior written approval from their supervisor (e.g., via email) before using paid time off for volunteer service.
