Sent on behalf of Amanda Stevens and the Staff Council – thank you!

Good morning Staff of ALVSCE-

The last 2 years have had a significant impact on all of us, on both personal and organizational levels. Please consider taking part in the upcoming University-wide event, “Day of Memory, Healing, and Hope” on Wednesday 3/23/22 on the main campus mall. Members of campus will gather to reflect on the losses that Covid has caused, lessons learned and resiliency of our community, and holding space for one another.

We would like to thank each of you for your contributions over the last 2 years and encourage you all to attend this event.

ALVSCE Staff Council

Please join us for a day of reflection on the anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic

[Covid-19 memorial invitation]

Dear Faculty and Instructors,
This week marks the two-year anniversary that COVID-19 was declared a national emergency and stay-at-home orders began across the nation.

Since then, more than two million Arizonans contracted the virus, and nearly 30,000 succumbed to the illness. Among those who succumbed were close friends and family - losses that impacted us deeply.

So much of our daily lives, our community, and our campus was impacted over the past two years. However, the resilience of our community was unwavering. Today, we are beginning to see a path forward as COVID-19 cases decline and we resume in-person gatherings.

To reflect on the lives lost and the hope for the future, the University Religious Council is hosting the “Day of Memory, Healing, and Hope”<https://click.comms.arizona.edu/?qs=a04c3f088654692dc4d42cf2ce434bf9e8cca4077eddf19b37d81c15d5e0b9f6e8c8b0825bbaf7ce352fc9a66df5b141e2a1f73bbf7fefe42f74dd20d16c6ae4> on March 23 on the University Mall. I invite you to join us for this memorable event, and I encourage you to share the information and invite students.

I hope you will join us.

Sincerely,
Liesl Folks
