<p>We partner with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to implement their <strong>Terrestrial Assessment, Inventory, and Monitoring (AIM) </strong>strategy,
which is targeted at collecting standardized inventory and long-term
vegetation data at multiple scales across the BLM Districts in the
Western U.S.</p>

<p><strong>Work Details & Environment</strong></p>
<ul><li>Crews will receive training on the BLM’s AIM protocols.</li><li>Hitch schedule: 8 days on, 6 days off</li><li>Primitive car camping in isolated regions during the hitch.</li><li>UM provides trucks and equipment.</li><li>Hikes may be 6 or more miles a day in mountainous and desert-like
terrain, elevation gains up to 2000 feet, carrying a 40 lb. pack.</li></ul>
<p><strong>Work Locations</strong></p>
<ul><li>Idaho – based in <strong>Boise, ID or Missoula, MT</strong></li><li>Montana – based in <strong>Helena, MT</strong></li><li>South Dakota – based in <strong>Spearfish, SD</strong></li><li>Wyoming – based in <strong>Bozeman, MT</strong></li></ul>
<p><strong>Compensation</strong></p>
<ul><li>$17-21 per hour, commensurate.</li><li>$244 meal per diem per hitch.</li><li>Up to $600 equipment reimbursement.</li><li>Worker’s compensation coverage, paid holidays and accrual of sick leave.</li></ul>
<p><strong>Education and Experience </strong></p>
<ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in range science, ecology, botany,
soil science, or related field preferred. Minimum three years of
undergraduate coursework.</li><li>A minimum of one season of field data collection.</li><li>Experience driving 4WD trucks and navigating off-trail with compass and GPS.</li><li>Commitment to an entire field season required.</li><li>Ability to maintain productive working relationships with crew members and managers.</li></ul>
