I have worked for many years on the collaborative adaptive management process for our Las Cienegas National Conservation Area. A key component of our collaborative adaptive management process is the upland monitoring data that we have collected for many years.
A few years ago the BLM transitioned to using the Assessment Inventory and Monitoring (AIM) data collection protocol. Previously the BLM had been collecting upland monitoring data using the line point intercept method but taking 1,000 point measurements at
each key area instead of the approximately 150 points that are collected at an AIM monitoring point. For the past two years we have collected upland monitoring data with both methods and are hoping to use that information to be able to crosswalk our old monitoring
data with the AIM data. Given this situation, we are looking for a UA student who is interested in taking on the task of looking at both the data from the 1,000 point data collection method and the AIM data and crosswalking it. We imagine that this person
might be someone strong in statistics. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
