producers their game camera photos by the end of February. Thank you all
for your patience - we have added another layer of analysis to the
photos to improve our understanding of cattle behavioral responses
to predator-induced stress which, although exciting, also means it
takes us MUCH longer to code each photo. If anyone would like their
photos sooner, please reach out to me and I can make that happen.
However, be forewarned – you will get all photos, not just
the photos of animals and people, but also a lot of photos of grass

lands CIG group (CoW-CIG), which consists of people from Utah, Colorado,
and Montana State Universities, Western Landowners Alliance, Heart of
the Rockies Initiative, Wildlife Services, and Defenders
of Wildlife, is hiring full and part-time technicians for the 2023
field season. Technicians will help with research evaluating the
effectiveness of nonlethal tools at reducing conflicts between livestock
and large carnivores, and ecological interactions between
carnivores and native prey species. They will be supervised by a Ph.D.
student at Utah State University but expected to communicate with all of
the collaborators, state agency employees, ranchers, range riders, and
more. Applicants should have strong field
and communication skills. Technicians will help manage field cameras
and code camera data, locate collared livestock, predators, and prey
species, investigate predator kills, and assist with biological sampling
from cattle. Training for this position will
