<p class="MsoNormal">We’re currently looking for a range tech on the south zone of the Kaibab to help us out on the William and Tusayan ranger districts. This is a good position for someone looking to get a start in the federal government and there is plenty
opportunity for development here , not to mention that they would get to work with Shai, Iric, and Myself. The Kaibab is an implementation forest with a lot of cool stuff going on and has some of the best people in northern AZ working here, making it a strong
collaborative district with a good network of people.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The job would by primarily (90%) field based and involve running around the woods all day. I’ve attached an actual outreach notice but major day to day duties would include:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- Conducting utilization monitoring and rangeland trend surveys and analyzing data.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- Assisting partners (UA extension, AZGFD) in collection of trend monitoring, rare plant surveys, noxious/ invasive weed surveys.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- surveying and documenting infrastructure. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- Running around looking for cows, burros, horses.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- helping other resource areas as needed (wildlife surveys/ Archaeology/ fire& fuels work/ Timber/ Grassland restoration/ etc.)<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">- Getting paid to explore the forest, hiking around and looking for cool stuff.
