<p class="xmsonormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Grazing by domesticated livestock is one of the most pervasive disturbances shaping diversity, structure and dynamics of arid and semi-arid grasslands globally. While numerous studies of the
ecological impacts of livestock grazing on dryland systems exist, landscape-level conservation objectives are often not explicitly incorporated into range management. Improved grazing policies that promote responsible land management could benefit these ecosystems
while supporting the long-term livelihoods of ranchers, rural communities, and land stewards by identifying opportunities for sustainable production and disincentivizing practices that result in rangeland degradation. This post-doctoral position will synthesize,
interpret, and communicate the results from long-term ecological research on grazing impacts, and help strengthen regional relationships among rangeland ecologists, ranchers, land managers, and conservation leaders on the Colorado Plateau. Working collaboratively,
the postdoctoral fellow will contribute to the development of independent, science-based recommendations for grazing policy reform. Opportunities to develop research proposals to extend the post-doctoral position beyond the initial appointment and/or advance
