The position is a 2-year postdoctoral position at the GS-11 level (about $64,000/year with benefits). The post-doctoral research ecologist will work primarily on the problem of annual brome invasion into
marginally invasible arid and semiarid habitat occupied by plant species of conservation concern. The individual will join a research team engaged in basic and applied research in plant conservation with the goal of preventing extinction and promoting recovery
of federally listed species. The post-doctoral project will focus on elucidating mechanisms facilitating recent annual brome invasion into formerly uninvaded habitat and developing methodology for annual brome control at intermediate spatial scales, for example,
on nature preserves. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to initiate a semi-independent research program in invasion ecology and/or plant conservation biology.
