I am happy to inform you that about 20
minutes from campus, a piece of raw Sonoran Desert is readily available for
adventures, projects, and visits from UA students and our Tucson
community. This camp represents a
50-year partnership between the UA and TUSD, and is the home of a family of
javelinas, many mule deer, rattlesnakes, saguaros, and other plants and
wildlife that belong in desert territories.
The camp also hosts programs for children that teach about ecological

coming to Cooper to experience the Earthkeepers program, which is part of a
discipline called earth education and over the course of 3 days and 2 nights
teaches concepts such as interrelationships and connections between living
things, change over time, and cycles of earth materials. Through a series of encounters, students
learn to make choices that will help them live more lightly on the earth. Many UA students from the College of
Education and campus clubs and organizations will be visiting Cooper for their

tree-planting that the Cooper Center for Environmental Learning has ever
had! Located at 5430 W Trails End Rd,
Tucson, AZ 85745, the Cooper Center has recently been offered 24 trees by
Tucson Clean and Beautiful. These trees
will be arriving at the camp tomorrow, November 17th, and will be planted on
Saturday, November 18th from 8am to 2pm.
