The mission of the Range and Meadow Forage Management Research Unit in Burns, Oregon is to provide the scientific basis for sound land and livestock management. The emphasis of the incumbent's program will be to conduct research that bridges our understanding
of ecological processes and factors at the plant community scale with those operating at larger scales typical of vegetation management activities in the western US. The incumbent conducts independent research to identify ecological/environmental factors affecting
success of rangeland soil and vegetation management, develops ecologically-based strategies necessary to mitigate these factors, and uses field research and modeling to evaluate and predict results of recommendations at landscape scales. The incumbent works
as a team member to provide multi-scale, research-based findings that will contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of sagebrush steppe ecology and can be used to inform critical rangeland management decisions.</span></p>

<span class="" style="font-size:13pt; font-family:Helvetica,sans-serif; color:rgb(33,33,33)" lang="EN">This position requires the selectee to undergo a pre-employment check and a full background investigation. Any offer made is considered a tentative job offer
