<div dir="ltr"><div>Hello Everyone! Welcome back and Happy New Year!</div><div> </div><div><strong>The first Tierra Seca Meeting of the semester is going to be this <u>Wednesday, January 22nd at noon in BSE 311. <font color="#ff0000" style="background-color:rgb(255,255,255)">There will be free pizza!</font></u></strong></div>
<div> </div><div>For those of you who don't know, Tierra Seca is the University of Arizona chapter of the Society for Range Management. Rangelands are areas that are naturally dominated by herbaceous species, shrubs, and cacti. These areas are unsuitable for agriculture and used primarily as natural ecosystems. As a club, we provide the opportunity to participate in activities including outdoor recreation, guest speakers, volunteering, and fun<span>draising. Tierra Seca allows members the opportunity to attend conferences and meetings of larger rangeland organizations and compete in a variety of undergraduate and graduate competitions. Tierra Seca provides a forum for people to come together with common interests, professional development, and volunteer on natural resource projects in the Tucson area.</span><span>To learn more about our parent organization, The Society for Range Management, visit this website! <a href="http://www.rangelands.org/">http://www.rangelands.org/</a> </span></div>
<div> </div><div>This first Tierra Seca meeting will be dedicated to meeting the club members and officers, as well as taking a quick look at what we have in store this semester. This is a great meeting for you to attend if you have not been in Tierra Seca before, and want to come see what we are all about. Attached is an agenda for the meeting, as well as a list of SNRE seminars that are happening this semester which I would encourage you all to look at!</div>
<div> </div><div>If you cannot make the meeting time, but are interested in getting involved, please email me! As for the rest of you, I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!</div><div> </div><div>Cheers,</div><div>Alanna Riggs</div>
