and pasted the job announcement from the State Jobs website along with a link to it below. Please forward this email far and wide and encourage folks with Range experience to apply. The job announcement says a bachelor’s degree in “Wildlife Science or closely
related field” but I’m assured that <b>people with degrees in Range Management will be considered.</b> Nevertheless I advise anyone applying to contact me so I can ensure that they aren’t cut from the list because they don’t have a wildlife degree. The ideal

<div class="yiv1445202207MsoNormal">This is a cost-shared position between the Department and the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS). Plans, organizes, monitors, and implements activities associated with the statewide Landowner Relations Program (LRP) at a regional
level. <b>Works with landowners and ranchers to foster strong relationships, and incorporate wildlife concerns into the planning and implementation of ranch operations</b>. Works collaboratively with local NRCS district offices to provide wildlife expertise
for staff and landowners working with NRCS. Negotiates projects and agreements with private landowners to enhance and conserve sensitive wildlife habitat and special status species on private lands. Works with private landowners and land management agencies
to resolve issues, concerns and problems with wildlife habitat or recreational access. Executes and implements all types of agreements with private landowners and land management agencies associated with the Landowner Relations Program, including Heritage
Access, IIPAM Habitat Stewardship, Heritage Grant-In-Aid, RESPECT, Big Game Stewardship, and the Adopt-A-Ranch programs etc. In addition, works closely with NRCS staff and landowners to promote Farm Bill programs such as Conservations Planning for Wildlife,
Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program, Environmental Quality Incentive Program, and others. Provides staff support in developing required documentation for project compliance (NEPA, ESA etc.). Conducts wildlife and wildlife habitat surveys of public and private
lands to determine opportunities for wildlife habitat improvements and mitigating recreational access issues. Uses technical equipment such as GPS, computers, etc. Attends private landowner and land management agency meetings on behalf of the Department
and the Landowner Relations Program. Presents programs to landowners, technical meetings and public information opportunities. Supervises volunteer personnel on an as-needed basis. Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed. Position will travel
5-8 nights per month, on average as necessary. </div>

of wildlife habitat and wildlife populations. <b> Knowledge of Farm Bill programs and NRCS organization is desirable.
</b>Knowledge of computer programs such as Word, Outlook, Excel and GIS (ARCGIS) is desirable. A bachelor’s degree in a wildlife science or closely related field from an accredited college or university and three years of professional experience in wildlife
research or wildlife management. A graduate degree in a wildlife science or a closely related field may substitute for one year of the required experience.
