The position is housed in the Department of Wildland Resources, Quinney College of Natural Resources, Utah State University, Logan, Utah. The position will be supervised by the Utah State University Wildlife Extension Specialist.

<div class="yiv744466139MsoNormal"><span style="">The successful candidate would be engaged in statewide, regional, and national programming to identify, implement, and evaluate conservation and management strategies to better manage
human-wildlife conflicts related to species conservation and wildlife damage management. The results of these efforts would be disseminated to stakeholders through extension and outreach programs conducted at the local community, county, state, regional, and
national level. </span></div>

<div class="yiv744466139MsoNormal"><span style="">1. Working as a member of the Utah CBCP team and with other stakeholders to facilitate community-based conservation working groups to address sage-grouse, endangered species, livestock/wildlife
and other emerging human-wildlife conservation issues. </span></div>

<div class="yiv744466139MsoNormal"><span style="">2. Work with the Director of the Berryman Institute to identify emerging national, regional, and state trends in human-wildlife conflicts and implement education, training, outreach and
extension programs to assist stakeholders in better managing human-wildlife conflicts. These programs may include but are not limited to developing and implementing training to enhance the skills and knowledge of wildlife damage management professionals and
organizing and conducting annual scientific symposia on the topic of human-wildlife conflict management.

<div class="yiv744466139MsoNormal"><span style="">3. Maintain a GIS database in conjunction with USU GIS faculty to record long-term sage-grouse and other wildlife population data, to include status and habitat use, habitat conditions
and trends, and project status. This database will provide the basis for information regarding long-term population trends in response to conservation and management actions and strategies.

<div class="yiv744466139MsoNormal"><span style="">4. Be engaged in on-going research with program staff, graduate and undergraduate students regarding wildlife-conflict management with an emphasis on greater sage-grouse conservation.

<div class="yiv744466139MsoNormal"><span style="">5. Collaborate with program staff and graduate students to produce scholarly products reporting the results of their work in peer-reviewed journals to include extension publications.

<div class="yiv744466139MsoNormal"><span style="">6. Analyze long-term data sets to evaluate management actions and determine greater sage-grouse population responses relative to management actions.

<div class="yiv744466139MsoNormal"><span style="">7. Administratively managing and providing neutral facilitation for up to four collaborative wildlife management groups in different locations in Utah. This requires a great deal of patience,
organization, attention to detail, and comfort managing meetings with participants with divergent viewpoints.

<div class="yiv744466139MsoNormal"><span style="">Qualifications:</span></div>
<div class="yiv744466139MsoNormal"><span style="">1. Applicants must possess an advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in wildlife biology, wildlife management, wildlife ecology, or closely related field.

<div class="yiv744466139MsoNormal"><span style="">2. Demonstrated experience in program development to include working with a wide diversity of land grant university public stakeholders is required. Effective interpersonal skills required.

<div class="yiv744466139MsoNormal"><span style="">3. Applicants must have demonstrated experience in the development, management, and analysis of databases to include a strong knowledge of and the application of contemporary statistical

<div class="yiv744466139MsoNormal"><span style="">4. Applicants have demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills to include experiences in preparing and delivering scholarly presentations to a wide diversity of audiences.
