have an immediate opening for an undergraduate student to work in the
Papuga Research Lab with a team of scientists on the NSF-funded Jemez
River Basin and Santa Catalina Mountains (JRB-SCM) Critical Zone
Observatory (CZO). The critical zone lies between rock and sky...where
water, atmosphere, ecosystems, and soils interact and is essential to
food production and water quality. To capture linkages between
vegetation, hydrology and critical zone evolution, the ecohydrology and
hydrologic partitioning (EHP) theme area of the JRB-SCM CZO is
organized. Within the EHP theme area, we seek a highly motivated and
enthusiastic undergraduate student with strong organizational skills, a
quantitative background, and an interest in environmental science to
help work on critical zone science for assistance in data management and
processing. <br>
<br>Specific Duties and Responsibilities:<br>*Organize data from multiple micrometeorological stations in Arizona and New Mexico<br>*Organize and store images from time-lapse digital cameras<br>*Examination of images to detect changes in snow cover, plant phenology, etc…<br>
*Assist in field campaigns<br><br>Desired Qualifications:<br>*Computer programming experience<br>*Ability to analyze data<br>
